The marine ball (pneumatic fender) has a very key influence in the shipping industry, and it is one of the equipment that freighters must bring today. In the long-term application of the marine pneumatic fender, it may cause aging due to various reasons, lose the most basic use value, and appear discolored or cracked. The following three points are the factors that cause the aging of marine pneumatic fenders:
1. Temperature
High temperature will cause catalytic cracking of marine balls. But the basic effect of heat is still active. It is a common aging condition to increase the oxygen diffusion rate and active oxidation reaction, thereby speeding up the oxidation reaction rate of marine balls.
2. Oxygen
Oxygen reacts in the marine ball bearing molecule to produce mineral acid-based chains, and the molecular chain is broken, resulting in changes in the characteristics of the marine ball bearing. Air oxidation is one of the key reasons for the aging of marine balls.
3. Ozone
The organic chemical specificity of ozone is much higher than that of oxygen, and it is more destructive. It also breaks the molecular chain, but the effect of ozone on the marine ball is different with the deformation of the marine ball. When it is used for the deformed marine ball, there will be cracks that are perpendicular to the direction of the action of the ground stress, that is to say, the so-called ozone cracking.
